Community Activities
• Participation in speaking engagements with community groups, schools, and churches to enhance dental education and disease awareness.

• Assists local high school students in getting community service requirements by involvement in dental related mentoring and preceptorships.
• Create and sponsorship of Health Care Disparities Mall Demonstrations/Health Fairs.
• Engaged in treatment of Homeless Populations in the District of Columbia and surrounding Maryland regions, through a self-funded project operation which our office coordinated care with homeless shelter officials. The office picked up persons from numerous shelters and delivered high level dental care. We provided food and drinks, provided the dentistry and provided Podiatry care. It was totally free to the recipients. This project ran from 2011-1014.
Advocacy Activities
Testified before US Senate Select Committee on Capitol Hill on matters related to access to care issues in relation to the indigent, Medicaid recipients and underserved populations, specific testimony relative to the untimely and profound death of Deamonte Driver, May 2, 2007.
• Participation in Maryland Oral Health Advisory Committees on Medicaid Funding. 2000-2008.
• Past member of sub-committee to seek improvement and streamlining dental Medicaid credentialing in Maryland, regarding Medicaid Managed Care Vendors, 2008.
• Lead Member of "Dentists in Action" to create the "Deamonte Driver Mobile Dental Van Project" in Prince George's County, Maryland to visit area Title l Schools to identify "at-risk Children", especially those in underserved or disadvantaged communities.
• Selected in 2013 to participate in an advisory capacity to a Public Health Disparities Committee with The University of Maryland School of Public Policy set up by Governor Martin O'Malley to look at racial health disparities particularly related to the disproportionate incidence of Hypertension, Diabetes and Heart Disease in poorer communities. The emphasis at seeking improvement in health outcomes and reduction in disease morbidity. This is still ongoing.
Lecturing/Teaching
• Engaged in Public speaking engagements as member of HeadStart. speaking before legislative bodies from 1999-2008 as an advocate for children's Dental Medicaid issues.
• Engaged in conducting Grand Rounds/ Continuing Education classes for Area Hospitals and Universities on Oral Manifestation of HIV and Sexually Transmitted Diseases for Physicians, Dentists, Nurses, Pharmacists and Social Workers.
• Conducted lectures on Oral manifestations of Sexually Transmitted diseases in adolescent populations.
• Conducted lectures on Oral Disease conditions seen in Homeless populations. • Conducted lectures on Oral Diseases and Health morbidities that exist based on poverty and in low-income populations. Discussions on the Sociological and Psychological impact of poverty on Oral Conditions and overall health Status. • Conducted lectures on Chronologic factors related to Oral condition. • Conducted lectures on Impact of tooth loss, oral function and the effects on overall Health.
